This may be a little premature, because I'm not sure how many people actually read my blog on a regular basis, but if you've never commented before now's the time to do it. I need advice, suggestions, whatever help I can get. Here's the deal: our baby boy is due in less than three months and I have done absolutely nothing to get his room ready for him. We have a crib in a box. That. Is. It. I've had a really hard time finding crib bedding that I like because I'm looking for something that will be able to grow with him for a few years....something that's more boyish than babyish. I'm not a huge fan of pastels or the red, navy, khaki color pallet. If I could stomach it I'd spend $360 on this:
...plus the $$$ on the room accessories. I am cheap and I can't even imagine asking some one else to spend that much money.
I have found a crib sheet and quilt that I like, but it doesn't come in a complete set with bumpers and accessories. There's no picture of it on a crib, but here's the kid's room:
I love the colors and I think the print is funny. If our son is anything like his father, he will also appreciate the goofiness of those monsters I've found some fabric that matches and I'm willing to do a little sewing to make this stuff work, but I thought I'd ask around before I committed to doing a bunch of work if there was something out there I haven't seen yet. I don't necessarily need a theme or print....dots or stripes in decent colors would work. If you know of a store that sells anything remotely close to what I'm looking for please, please, please let me know.
Oh, you sound stressed! Don't stress. I'm sorry I don't know any of the stores that would have anything similar except for the more popular stores like Pottery Barn, Target, etc. You could go to a fabric store like Joann's and they have comforter fabric in patterns; you just have to finish off the sides. You could also check eBay and maybe there are folks on Etsy that make sets.
ReplyDeleteHey Aaron! Congrats on a little boy on the way! I haven't seen you since your wedding! I nanny for twin infants and the mom loves Carter's brand things. This website (http://carters.kidslineinc.com/products/)has some bedding that have the tree/animal theme. Kohl's and JCPenny carry their stuff I believe. They always have good sales! Also, did you check Ikea? They have some cute themes!
ReplyDeleteI will keep my eyes open! I will let you know what I find. What about Dwell (for Target)?
