Takin' a Trip Down Interstate 85

Visit me at my new blog!

My husband and I are spending our day off driving to Ikea in Concord, North Carolina and working our way back home to Raleigh, hitting every fabric outlet, discount furniture place and Hobby Lobby along the way.  If I can't find what I'm looking for today...it doesn't exist...at least not in my price range.  Wish me luck!

One more thing....I'd like to acknowledge my husband for being a very willing partner in this excursion.  I'm sure that not one time during the day will I feel like I'm dragging anyone along with me.  That's probably not a very common quality among husbands and I'm pretty thankful for it.

I just thought this Ikea bedroom was cute.  Y'all have a good day!

  1. Wow! You are so lucky. My husband will not go near any of those places. I can go, but I fly solo always! Have a fun road trip!

  2. Sounds like a great trip! And give an extra big hug to your hubby for being so great. I have an amazing husband myself, but unfortunately a trip like that would be his personal hell. Gotta save those things for weekends with my girlfriends! ;o)

  3. The bedroom IS cute and you're right, most husbands would not willing participate in a shopping trip. :-) Have fun!

  5. Good hubby! My husband starts off willing, then gets cranky mid-way through the shopping excursion. Great example: Christmas shopping! Hope you found what you are looking for :)

  6. I'm in Raleigh and plan on making the trip to Ikea again soon. Can you tell me what other stores you went to that are worth a look?

  7. I ended up getting most of the things I needed from IKEA, so I can't say whether any of these places had a good stock of stuff, but usually I would have stopped at this fabric warehouse outside of Burlington. I don't even know the name of it, but you can see if from the interstate. It's huge and most everything is $7.99/yard. Then there are the discount furniture stores like
    R&J Furniture Xpress LLC
    1015 North Salisbury Avenue
    Spencer, N. C. 28159

There's a freight damaged place at exit 85 and a place called Rock's at exit 86. Both of them are right off the interstate.

I did stop at Hobby Lobby on my way home and there's one of those at Alamance Crossing in Burlington or there's one right off the interstate in Kannapolis. Hobby Lobby's always got good stuff!
    Hope that helps!
